AP Police Cyber Commandos, Soldiers Against Cyber Crimes

Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, MLAs Bonda Uma and Gadde Rammohan attended the cyber crime awareness walk-thon organized by the city police against cyber crimes in Vijayawada. Vijayawada Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu revealed that 250 cyber commandos and 2000 cyber soldiers have been trained and appointed to prevent cyber crimes.

Home Minister Anita said that cyber crimes are increasing day by day and lakhs of rupees are being stolen from the accounts of innocent people. She advised not to respond to messages, mails and WhatsApp messages from strangers and to be vigilant with phone calls claiming to have won a loan app or lottery.

Home Minister Anita warned that if such crimes are committed, there will be severe punishments.  She cautioned that we are destroying our future through unknown clicks on social media.  Anita said that IAS and IPS are also vulnerable to cyber criminals.

She announced that the State Cyber Cell Coordination Team will be formed. She deplored that crimes have increased with the increase in technology. Anita stated that the survival of humans will be questioned due to technology.

She said that Rs. 1700 crores were lost in the country due to cyber crimes in 4 months. Expressing concern that educated people are victims of cyber crimes, she said that they are committing cyber crimes with just one click and young children are committing suicide due to cyber crimes.

The Police Commissioner said that the number of such crimes is increasing across the country and cyber commandos and soldiers have been appointed to prevent them.  He said that they are trying to train another 3 lakh cyber soldiers in the next three months.

Rajasekhar Babu said that most of the victims of this type of crime are educated people. He suggested that if anyone is cheated by cyber crooks, they should immediately report the 1930 number.
