Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu alleged that due to financial loot by the YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime, the state has lost a revenue of Rs 76,795 crores during last five years. Presenting a White Paper on financial anarchy during previous regime, in the state assembly on Friday, he deplored that the funds received from the center were also diverted.
Funds intended to Dwacra women groups were hijacked and funds supposed to go to Panchayats were diverted, he said. Moreover, he lamented government properties and lands in Visakha were pledged.
“How bad is Jagan Reddy’s regime… He showed the income of alcohol for 15 years in the future and took loans on them. The damage caused by Jagan is more to the state than the damage caused by bifurcation. As of June, 2024, Andhra Pradesh’s state debt is Rs.9,74,556 crores (about Rs 10 lakh crores)”, he added.
“They put various taxes on the people, pocketed the money and again went into debt. They destroyed the economy. An example of Jagan Reddy’s economic destruction in five years was that they took away money hidden with 33 companies without leaving a single rupee. There are pending bills of Rs.1.35 lakh crore in various departments in the state”, he added.
Chief Minister deplored that Jagan Reddy left the government after robbing every thing and leaving dues and now this entire burden has fallen on the coalition government. Has the Polavaram is completed, he said AP would have get a revenue of Rs 45,000 crore. He also said that the state get a loss of Rs 7,000 crore from sand irregularities and Rs 9,7500 crores due to exploitation of mines.
Had Amaravati was kept remained as the capital, he said it would have developed into a cosmopolitan city, earning Rs 3 lakh crore worth property and getting 7 lakh jobs. But, due to financial mess created by the previous government, Chandrababu said that the sources of income have decreased drastically and as a result the growth rate has dropped from 13.5 to 9.5 percent.
He recalled that new ports were started for the development of the state during the TDP regime of 2014-19. The Chief Minister asserted that the alliance government will complete the Polavaram project and provide irrigation to every acre.
