The issue surrounding the furniture allocated to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan during his tenure remains unresolved. The YSR Congress Party had proposed either taking the furniture from Jagan’s residence or settling the matter financially, but the General Administration Department has delayed making a decision. To expedite the matter, YSRCP MLC Lella Appireddy has now approached the High Court, seeking its intervention.
In his petition, Appireddy has asked the court to direct the General Administration Department to make a final call on the furniture issue. The court has agreed to review the petition. However, during the hearing, the government raised an objection, pointing out that the petition lacked crucial details. The government’s lawyer questioned the validity of the petition, leaving the court surprised.
Justice Krishna Mohan, presiding over the case, expressed concerns about how the petition was even given a number, given the apparent errors. In response, Appireddy requested additional time to correct the mistakes. The High Court has granted him a two-week extension and postponed further proceedings until the corrections are made.
