AP High Court Orders FIR Against Former Minister Vidadala Rajini

A landmark decision was given by the Andhra Pradesh High Court today, instructing the Guntur police to file a case against former YSRCP minister Vidadala Rajini and her personal assistants Ramakrishna and Phani, and the then Circle Inspector (CI) Suryanarayana. The court has ordered the police to register an FIR and submit all case details within a given time frame. This is creating heavy waves within the YSRCP.

This marks a rare instance where the High Court has intervened in a matter involving a high-profile political figure. Typically, legal actions against YSRCP leaders have been managed by the state police, but this is the first time the court has directly ordered action against such a prominent individual.

The case stems from a social media controversy, where a local resident of Rajini’s constituency, Chilakaluripet,  Pilli Koteswara Rao  , posted critical comments about her. In response, Rajini allegedly instructed the police to arrest Koti and take strong action. According to Koti’s family, he was reportedly subjected to severe torture at the police station for several days, an allegation that attracted significant media attention.

Pilli Koteswara Rao, in turn, approached the High Court, filing complaints against Rajini, her assistants, and the police. After reviewing the case, the court ordered the Guntur police to file an FIR and provide all relevant details to the court within two weeks. The case is now one of the most discussed topics in Andhra Pradesh, drawing attention to the legal and political dynamics at play.
