AP Govt. Given Green signal To prosecute Former CID chief Sanjay

The AP government has given the green signal to the prosecution of senior IPS officer and former CID chief N. Sanjay. He is already under suspension and is facing several charges. Several irregularities took place during his tenure as CID chief and Fire Services DG in the previous YSRCP government. He is notorious for his proximity with former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Vigilance officials conducted a thorough investigation and found that irregularities had taken place. The government recently suspended him based on the vigilance report. Action has been taken under Section 3(1) of the All India Services Disciplinary Act, 1969. It has directed the ACB officials to investigate the irregularities.

Due to the seriousness of the cases against Sanjay, the government issued orders on Saturday allowing ACB prosecution. It has already issued orders directing Sanjay not to go beyond Vijayawada without permission. Now it seems that the ACB has started the investigation and there is a possibility of arresting him.

Sanjay while serving as DG of Fire Services, he was involved in irregularities in the fire NOC tender process and irregularities in the implementation of rules. In the previous government, a contract of Rs. 2.29 crore was awarded to Sautrika Technology and Private Limited for the supply of NOCs and hardware in the fire office.

In this contract, an advance payment of Rs. 59.93 lakh was made to the said company. But only 14 percent of the project work was completed within a month. He directly purchased Microsoft laptops and Apple iPads. There were allegations of making purchases without a tender process and making payments of Rs. 17.89 lakh at high prices.

Vigilance officials identified such financial transactions at will, ignoring the rules, and purchasing equipment at high prices. There are also allegations that he committed irregularities in organizing SC and ST awareness conferences. The government allocated Rs. 1.19 crore to organize awareness conferences for SC and ST.

They were organized in the name of Kriti Vap Technologies Private Limited. In fact, no large-scale conferences were organized. No company was entrusted with the responsibility of organizing the conference. Conferences were organized in private buildings as a sham. Only Rs. 3.10 lakh was spent for this.

The remaining budget amount was diverted to the name of a company that did not exist. On paper, it was shown that tenders were called, a company was selected, and conferences were organized through it. Vigilance officials investigated this too and found Sanjay responsible.
