Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a ticket price hike and permitted an early premiere for Kantara Chapter 1, the prequel to Rishab Shetty’s blockbuster Kantara, set to release on October 2. As per the government order, ticket prices can be increased by ₹75 (plus GST) in single screens and ₹100 (plus GST) in multiplexes from the release date until October 11. The government has also allowed a special premiere show at 10 PM on October 1, with the same revised ticket rates.
Production house Hombale Films expressed gratitude to the state government on social media, extending special thanks to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Kandula Durgesh.
Addressing concerns raised over obstacles faced by Telugu films in Karnataka, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan recently stated that it would be inappropriate to create hurdles for Kantara Chapter 1 in Andhra Pradesh based on external developments. He urged stakeholders to act with a broad and national outlook. The government subsequently responded positively to the ticket hike proposal, and the film’s team welcomed the new G.O. with appreciation.
