The Andhra Pradesh government has responded to the changed political scenario by taking utmost care for one of the main leaders of the National Democratic Alliance, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The government order for ₹1.44 crore to strengthen security has been released.
Naidu’s house on the Krishna River banks along the road from Krishna Barrage in Vijayawada to Velagapudi Secretariat has turned into a hub of these security upgradation works. This is the aftermath of a string of incidents, including attacks on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) offices and an assault on Naidu’s home in Undavalli during the tenure of the YSR Congress Party.
This will further include ₹81 lakh towards installing CCTV cameras around his residence, ₹42 lakh on Under Vehicle Surveillance Systems (UVSS) and hydraulic bollards at the entrance of the vehicle leading to his house. Remaining money will be invested in solar fencing around his place.
At present, Naidu is being protected by commandos of the National Security Guard (NSG) besides receiving backup from state police forces. Recently, the central government had transferred security duties to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) ensuring that Naidu keeps getting strong security cover amidst political troubles.
