AP Estimated Flood Losses At  Rs 6,880 crore

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the government has made a preliminary estimate of the loss of Rs 6880.23 crores to the state  due to the flood disaster. He said that they have sent this estimation to the Center, seeking immediate assistance.

According to the report, the revenue department suffered a loss of  RS 750 crores, the animal husbandry department suffered a loss of Rs 11.58 crores, the fisheries department suffered a loss of Rs 157.86 crores, the agriculture department suffered a loss of Rs 301.34 crores and the horticulture department suffered a loss of  Rs 39.95 crores.

The government has prepared a report saying that the power department has suffered losses of Rs 481.28 crores, R&B Rs 2164.5 crores, rural water supply Rs 75.59 crores, panchayat roads Rs 167.55 crores, water sources Rs 1568.55 crores, municipal and urban Rs 1160 crores, fire brigade and SDRF Rs 2 crores.

On the other hand, RP Sisodia, Special Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department, said that the flood damage will be assessed for three days from Monday in the flood-affected areas. If the residents are available at home, they will be able to register the complete details.

He said that the damage calculation will be carried out in two lakh residences under 149 secretariats in 32 divisions of Vijayawada city. The damage estimation teams will be trained for one day in Vijayawada. He said that 149 tehsildars and others will serve in flood damage assessment.

Each division is headed by a district level officer. He said that one IAS officer will supervise every two divisions. He said that 10 enumeration teams will go to a division or village secretariat, and 200 teams are being set up for damage enumeration in commercial complexes.

He said that 43 people died in flood affected districts and 35 people died in NTR district alone. He said that 420 cows, buffaloes, sheep and other livestock, 62,424 chickens died. According to preliminary estimates, 1.93 lakh hectares of paddy and other crops and 25 hectares of commercial crops have been damaged.

He said that 3,868 kilometers of R&B roads and 353 kilometers of Panchayat Raj roads were damaged. He said that six breaches fell in Budameru, out of which three were buried.
