AP CM Directs Officials to Establish Food Processing and Aqua Industrial Parks

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday directed officials to prepare an action plan for setting up at least 100 food processing, aqua, horticulture, and mineral-based industrial development parks across the state. The Chief Minister emphasized that the state has a favorable environment for establishing these industries.

Chandrababu Naidu participated in a review meeting at the State Secretariat focused on the performance of the Industries, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) departments. During the meeting, he instructed officials to conduct a detailed study of the existing industrial development parks and explore opportunities for new developments. He particularly stressed the need to devise special plans for industrial development in backward regions.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister was briefed through a PowerPoint presentation about the existing industrial units and the upcoming ports in the state. He directed officials to take all necessary steps to encourage industrialists.

Despite Maharashtra having the highest number of industrial parks, Andhra Pradesh currently has only 53, the Chief Minister noted. He made it clear to the officials that at least 100 industrial parks, each with a minimum area of 100 acres, should be established.

The Chief Minister also ordered actions to revive the neglected Vijayawada Mylavaram Industrial Park. He suggested creating an action plan for developing ports through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and conducting a comprehensive study of the best privately managed ports.
