Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu conducted a review meeting on the Endowments Department today. During the meeting, he shared some good news for priests. It has been decided to increase the salary for priests from the current ₹10,000 to ₹15,000. Additionally, the amount allocated for dhupa (incense), deepa (lamp), and naivedya (offerings) will be raised from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000.
The minimum salary for Nayee Brahmins performing temple duties will also be increased to ₹25,000. Furthermore, Chandrababu Naidu approved a stipend of ₹3,000 for unemployed Vedic students.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need to prioritize Agama Shastra regulations and respect the sentiments of devotees. He instructed to place high importance on cleanliness in temples, ensure the quality of prasadam (offering), and create a serene environment to foster spiritual sentiments in temples.
He also directed officials to handle temple affairs with utmost care to prevent any misconduct.
