Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced that the government is ready to support the farmers from any possible crisis in prices of agricultural produce. In the cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister on Tuesday, it was decided to form a cabinet sub-committee with six ministers on agricultural yields, remunerative prices and prices of essential commodities.
The cabinet sub-committee will continuously monitor the steps to be taken to ensure remunerative prices for farmers. The cabinet meeting discussed the agricultural sector, the difficulties of food producers and marketing for 45 minutes. The Chief Minister announced that the government will take steps to ensure that farmers are independent and results are visible at the field level.
Officials explained that the yields of various crops have increased this year compared to last year. The cabinet is of the opinion that international developments and special situations prevailing in the country and abroad have affected the prices of various crops. Officials revealed the reasons for the decrease in the prices of crop products such as chilli, tobacco, aqua, cocoa, sugarcane and mango.
The Cabinet has given the green signal for the allotment of 615 acres of land free of cost to APIIC in Muthukur, Nellore district. The Cabinet has approved the proposal to allot land to APIIC for the establishment of an industrial park. It has been decided to allot land to Adani Power for the establishment of a 500 MW pumped storage hydro-power project in Tadimarri, Sathya Sai district, and a 1000 MW pumped storage project in Kondapuram, Kadapa district.
It has been decided to allocate land at the rate of Rs 5 lakh per acre. The Cabinet has taken a decision ratifying the decision to appoint 2260 special education teachers. The Cabinet has approved the proposal to shift the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University in Hyderabad to AP. Permission has been given to Ambedkar Open University to set up study centers to provide coaching to students in AP.
The Cabinet approved the proposal to set up a Law University in Amaravati through the Bar Council of India. The Cabinet discussed the proposal to abolish MDU vehicles and provide rice and other commodities through ration shops. The Cabinet approved the recommendation of the GoM to allocate 500 acres for cityside development at Bhogapuram International Airport.
The Cabinet approved the AP Leather Footwear Policy 4.0. The Cabinet approved the investments of 11 companies approved by the Investment Promotion Board (SIPB). The Cabinet gave the green signal for investments of up to Rs. 30,000 crores and creation of 35 thousand jobs.
