Andhra University Should Aim for Higher Global Standards: Nara Lokesh

Visakhapatnam: Andhra University (AU) has achieved a major milestone in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 released by the Union Ministry of Education. The prestigious institution secured 4th place in the State Public Universities category, becoming the top-ranked government university in Andhra Pradesh.

AU, which was ranked 7th last year, climbed three spots to reach 4th this year. It also improved its position in other categories — moving from 25th to 23rd among all universities nationwide, while retaining 41st place in the overall category. The pharmacy department advanced from 34th to 31st, and engineering from 90th to 88th. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College of Law maintained its 16th rank.

State Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh congratulated AU on the achievement, urging the institution to set long-term goals and strive for greater academic excellence in the years ahead.
