Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh Apologizes to Communist Party Leaders

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh has appealed to Communist Party leaders for forgiveness through a tweet on the social media platform X, which has gone viral. There is a specific reason behind his request for pardon.

On Thursday, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited the Madakasira constituency. In anticipation of his visit, police preemptively arrested CPM leaders from the area. In response, CPM state secretary V. Srinivasa Rao issued a press statement condemning the arrests. Following this, Minister Lokesh reacted to the situation.

“Forgive us, comrades. We are asking for forgiveness regarding the arrest of CPM leaders by the police during CM Chandrababu’s visit to the Madakasira constituency. Our coalition government is completely against house arrests and preemptive arrests. Although the previous government’s rule ended five years ago, the behavior of some police officers has not changed.

We will not allow such undemocratic arrests to happen again. We will protect the right to question the government from the opposition and the right to protest democratically. I urge the chief officers of the police department to take measures to prevent any further incidents of preemptive arrests and house arrests,” Lokesh tweeted.
