Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a comprehensive policy aimed at developing the state’s electronics manufacturing sector. The policy sets a target to produce electronics worth ₹4.2 lakh crores and attract $10 billion in investments, which is expected to create significant employment opportunities for the local workforce.
As part of the new policy, the government will offer a range of incentives for electronics manufacturing units based on their investments. Key provisions include a 100% stamp duty exemption for electronics production units. Additionally, the government will provide monthly incentives of ₹4,000 to ₹6,000 for each new employee hired in the sector for up to five years. To further support industrial growth, the government has decided to supply electricity to electronics industries at a subsidized rate of ₹1 per unit for the next five years.
The government highlighted that the state already offers a favorable investment environment, with existing electronics clusters in areas such as Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Sri City, Nellore, Kadapa, and Anantapur. The availability of a skilled workforce, government-friendly policies, an improved logistics network, and the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor are expected to further enhance the attractiveness of Andhra Pradesh for investors.
With these strategic incentives, the Andhra Pradesh government aims to establish the state as a key player in the national electronics manufacturing industry.
