Andhra Pradesh Assembly Session Commences Amidst YSRCP Protests

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly session began on Monday with Governor Abdul Nazeer addressing both houses at 10 am. In his speech, the Governor congratulated the newly elected members and the coalition government. However, the session was marked by protests from YSRCP MLAs, led by YS Jagan, who alleged a deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

YS Jagan and the YSRCP MLAs attended the session wearing black scarves, interrupting the Governor’s speech with shouts of “Save Democracy.” Despite the disruption, Governor Nazeer continued his address, highlighting the challenges faced by Andhra Pradesh post-bifurcation, including revenue deficits and financial constraints.

Governor Nazeer praised Chandrababu as a visionary leader who, since forming the government in 2014, has worked towards the state’s development. He criticized the YSRCP rule, claiming the state had lagged under its governance. The Governor reaffirmed the coalition government’s commitment to Andhra Pradesh’s progress and congratulated the electorate for their decision.

In protest against the Governor’s remarks, YSRCP MLAs staged a walkout from the assembly.
