Andhra CM Naidu Meets PM Modi, Invites Him to Launch Amaravati

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP boss Nara Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at New Delhi on Friday. The high-profile visit was held at the PM’s official residence where the two leaders had important talks, with an emphasis on the recent terror strike in Pahalgam which sadly took away 26 lives.

Naidu strongly condemned the attack and assured the Prime Minister that Andhra Pradesh stands firmly with the Centre. He pledged unstinted support to whatever decision the Union government makes against terror, and averred that people of AP as a whole support the country in its battle against such forces.

The second important agenda of the trip was issuing an official invitation to PM Modi to open the eagerly awaited development initiatives in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh’s capital city. Chandrababu Naidu, who previously declared the scheme for reviving Amaravati, had already begun the procedure with tenders finalized for the construction of essential buildings like Assembly, High Court, and Secretariat.

PM Modi is scheduled to go to Amaravati on May 2, where he will open almost ₹1 lakh crore worth of infra projects. The projects mark the beginning of a new era for the capital city, which had seen its growth being put on hold in 2019 under the previous administration.

With the TDP-alliance government back in office after a crushing victory in the 2024 elections, the Amaravati dream is being revived. The government of Naidu is taking the PM’s visit next week as a dignified milestone, and enormous preparations are in place to make it a grand and successful event.
