Anagani Alleges Insider Trading In YSRCP Regime , Announces Investigation

The political landscape in Andhra Pradesh is heating up, with the ruling coalition government intensifying its scrutiny of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). The opposition has raised serious allegations of corruption and irregularities during the party’s previous tenure, particularly regarding land transactions. The government is now actively collecting evidence to substantiate these claims and holds the YSRCP accountable for any wrongdoing.

Since taking power, the coalition has launched investigations into several accusations, with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) already looking into corruption linked to sand and liquor operations. Additionally, probes are underway into social media posts and allegations involving YSRCP leaders, with multiple arrests made in connection to these cases.

The latest focus of scrutiny is the claim of large-scale land scams during the previous administration. Minister Anagani Satyaprasad made a significant revelation in the assembly, stating that 25,000 acres of assigned land were illegally registered during the previous government’s rule. He confirmed that insider trading took place, and the government has ordered a halt to these land registrations and will conduct a re-survey. The government is committed to correcting the errors of the past administration and is considering introducing a Land Grabbing Act to address the issue.

This move is particularly noteworthy given that the YSRCP, when in opposition, had leveled similar insider trading accusations against the TDP government concerning the Amaravati land deals, sparking significant debate. Following the YSRCP’s rise to power, an inquiry was conducted, and the CID charged several former TDP ministers. Now, the ruling coalition is using the same insider trading allegations against the YSRCP, focusing on complaints from the public and reports of land-related irregularities. The outcome of these investigations and decisions could shape the future of Andhra Pradesh’s political environment.
