Following the release of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 in Telangana, key figures from Tollywood met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to discuss the growing divide between the film industry and the state government. The meeting primarily focused on two major issues: benefit shows and ticket price hikes. Despite discussions, the government remained firm, indicating there would be no changes on these fronts. As a result, the Tollywood representatives left the meeting feeling disheartened, with no significant progress made.
Simultaneously, former YSRCP minister Ambati Rambabu, known for his outspoken political views, sparked a storm with a cryptic tweet on X (formerly Twitter). Though he didn’t name anyone directly, the intent behind his message was unmistakable. Ambati seemed to take aim at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy while offering unsolicited advice to the Telugu film industry, causing the tweet to quickly go viral.
In his tweet, Ambati made a subtle reference to the famous “sofa scene” from Pushpa 2, writing, “For a full resolution, the ‘Sofa’ must come into play!” In the movie, Allu Arjun’s character uses sofas stuffed with cash to sway his rivals. The tweet appears to cleverly draw a parallel, suggesting that a similar approach might help resolve the ongoing tensions between Tollywood and the state government.
Although there has been no official response yet, many believe that Ambati’s tweet was directly aimed at the aftermath of the meeting between Revanth and Tollywood. His past support for Allu Arjun further strengthens the idea that his comments are connected to the ongoing debate surrounding the film industry’s relationship with the government.
