“Amaravati’s New Railway Line: A Game-Changer for Andhra Pradesh!”

It is noteworthy that a new railway line was sanctioned by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Sri PawanKalyan, while addressing subsumed speeches at the Amaravati Railway Project. In this regard, construction work approved by the central government will help improve connectivity to the new city of Amaravati, the new capital of the decimated state.

Project Key Details

The authorities will develop the approved rail line, which will stretch 57 kilometers and cost ₹2,245 crore. Another important aspect of this project is the erection of a railway bridge 3.2 km long over the Krishna River, which would significantly ease the provision of railway traces to other major cities including Hydrabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Nagpur directly.

While this was the case with the announcements, Hon’able Minister of Railway AshwiniVaishnaw conducted a virtual press meeting where he interacted with the media on many Andhra Pradesh related projects. Also, the Chief Minister of the state, Nara Chandrababu naidu was part of this meeting and its importance goes to the improved links of the state.

Why the Railway Project Should Proceed

The government has stated that trains will reduce the reliance on road transport vehicle usage in the area. In addition, this rail development will enable the inter-modal transportation of cargo units by interfacing with the regional trade areas and deepening their integration.
