Amaravati farmers happy with receiving pending lease amount on Sankranti day

The Amaravati capital farmers are expressing joy over the deposit of pending lease amount to their lands, on the occasion of Sankranti. Farmers are overjoyed as the money has been deposited in their accounts since Monday.

The farmers of the capital region are expressing happiness as they have received the money a day before the biggest festival of the year, Sankranthi.

The coalition government has given it as a Sankranthi gift to the farmers of Amaravati region who gave land for the construction of the capital. They say that they will use this money to buy new clothes during the festival and celebrate Sankranti with their family members happily.

The previous YSRCP government deliberately ignored the capital farmers and delayed paying lease for five years. The construction of Amaravati was stopped, the lands were given up and other work was not found, and the Amaravati farmers faced severe difficulties because they did not receive the lease money due from the government.

They faced various difficulties as they could not go around the courts every year for rent funds. Since most of them were small and marginal farmers, soon after returning to power, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu assured them he would solve all their problems. As he had said, he decided to extend the lease payment period for Amaravati farmers for another five years.

Farmers of the Amaravati region sacrificed lands for the capital with the aim of developing a New Capital for Andhra Pradesh. The coalition government is providing relief to the farmers of Amaravati who have faced various difficulties under Jagan’s rule.

The farmers are happy as they are receiving amounts towards a two-year lease that was kept pending without payment during the YSRCP regime. Government officials announced that some farmers received the 9th year lease along with the deposit on Tuesday morning. The government has also deposited the pensions paid to the landless poor in the capital.

Meanwhile, the state Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department has issued orders releasing funds of Rs. 255 crore to pay pensions and rent in the capital villages. Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) officials said that this entire amount of funds has been deposited in full.
