Amala Paul Wins Critics’ Best Actress Award, Shares Untold Love Story

Actress Amala Paul, who rose to fame with her award-winning performance in Maina and went on to deliver notable roles in films like Iddarammayilatho and Nayak, has once again made headlines—this time not just for her acting, but for her personal journey.

At the recently held JFW Movie Awards, Amala was honoured with the Critics’ Best Actress Award. During the event, she candidly spoke about her relationship with Jagat Desai, her now-husband, revealing previously undisclosed details about their love story and marriage.

“We met in Goa. Jagat is Gujarati but settled in Goa. I told him I was from Kerala. He wasn’t familiar with South Indian films, and I didn’t mention that I was an actress,” she said. Amala further revealed that they got married after she became pregnant. “It was only later that I told him about my film career. While I was home during my pregnancy, he began watching my movies one after another and really enjoyed them. He was delighted watching my award acceptance photos and videos,” she added.

Amala and Jagat Desai, who married in 2023, recently welcomed their son, Ilai. Despite her personal milestones, Amala continues to balance her film career with grace and determination. Her heartfelt revelation has since gone viral on social media, resonating with fans and fellow artists alike.
