A few hours after Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made startling allegations about the Sandhya theatre stampede incident in the state assembly on Saturday, Tollywood actor Allu Arjun addressed a media interaction in the evening. When it was announced that the Pushpa actor will meet the media, everyone expected him to come up with facts to counter the CM’s statements. But, the press meet ended as a huge failure because Bunny failed to come up with any credible evidence to support his claims.
Allu Arjun stated that he was not aware of the death of the woman at the theatre until the next day morning. He categorically denied that no police officer came to him and told about the stampede incident which is contrary to what Revanth Reddy alleged in his speech. Even if he came to know about the incident the next day morning, why didn’t he react immediately and instead took some time and released a video statement the next day.
Allu Arjun further tried to give an impression that he couldn’t celebrate the success of Pushpa 2 after knowing about the unfortunate incident in which the woman succumbed to death and the boy was critically injured. However, it is an open fact that he took part in success celebrations in Delhi and Hyderabad. Only after a case was filed against him, Allu Arjun started to keep away from celebrations.
Moreover, the exaggerated display of support from Tollywood celebs and his demeanor during his interaction with several artists after his release from jail also made everyone feel that he hasn’t got any remorse for the incident.
Revanth Reddy openly alleged that Allu Arjun refused to leave the theatre even after the ACP informed about the mishap and the death of a lady. He also slammed the hero for his eloborate procession after coming out of the theatre .
These statements caused a serious damage to Allu Arjun’s reputation. So, many have expected the hero to come up with adequate evidence to shoot down his allegations. However, it seems like Allu Arjun couldn’t come up with a counter argument on these allegations and simply tried to claim that he was subjected to character assassination.
As the Chief Minister himself claimed that Allu Arjun left the premises only after the ACP and the DCP have intervened, there is a very little chance for these statements to be wrong. Because there are so many associates with Bunny along with the team of Pushpa 2 in the theatre.
Also, Allu Arjun blatantly lied that he immediately left the theatre without watching the film after knowing about the incident. But, many videos have come out in which he was seen enjoying the Jatara episode. So, he statement is factually inaccurate.
Allu Arjun further maintained that he couldn’t meet the family and the boy in hospital as they filed a case on him and his visit could lead to legal consequences. But, they filed a case only after a few days and not immediately. He should have immediately responded the next day and announced the ex-gratia.
Allu Arjun’s body language and his pre written speech made the entire episode as a pretentious one without any proper evidence to defend his version. On the whole, the press meet didn’t deliver the intended outcome and only further complicated the matter as no hard facts were presented but only blatant lies were tired to be projected.
