Allu Arjun Gets Regular Bail In stampede case

In a major relief, National Award winning actor and Tollywood star Allu Arjun was granted regular bail by Nampally Court in Telangana on Friday evening in connection with the Sandhya theatre stampede incident that resulted in the death of a 35 year old woman on December 4th during the special screening of his latest release Pushpa 2.

Allu Arjun was arrested from his home by Chikkadapally police of Hyderabad on December 13th as he was accused number 11 in the unfortunate mishap. He was produced in Nampally Court on the same day and was ordered to be in judicial remand for 14 days. However, he filed a lunch motion petition in the High Court and secured bail for four weeks.

As the judicial remand ended, Allu Arjun attended the virtual hearing last week and his lawyers filed petition for regular bail. After looking at the merits, the judgement was reserved by the Nampally Court. The police department filed counter affidavit in the case and the Court heard the arguments from both parties. As the arrest gained huge public attention due to the political ramifications, all eyes were on the judgement of Nampally Court.

Finally, the Court has given some relief to Bunny by granting regular bail. It ordered him to pay 50,000 bond along with two witnesses. The tragic incident unfolded when a large crowd gathered at the theatre, eager to catch a glimpse of the star during the special show. This resulted in a stampede like situation during which Revathi was crushed to death. Her son was severely injured, sustaining life-threatening injuries.

The crowd chaos was reportedly exacerbated by the presence of the actor’s security personnel, which led to further tension at the venue. Telangana Chief Minister pointed out the same and criticised the actor for his negligence and indifferent attitude. This has triggered a massive political storm in Telangana.

Meanwhile, the police department continues to investigate the case with all evidences collected through CC footage. The Sandhya theatre management, Pushpa producers and few bouncers have already been booked in this case.
