Former health minister in YS Jagan’s cabinet and ex-MLA from Eluru constituency in Andhra Pradesh, Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas alias Alla Nani is all set to join Telugu Desam Party today morning. Nani, a three time MLA and also former Deputy CM, resigned from YSRCP in August this year following the disastrous electoral performance in 2024 general assembly polls. He held a press meet and announced his resignation citing personal reasons.
Ever since his resignation, there have been numerous speculations that Nani would join either TDP or Janasena. A few days ago, there were reports that Nani is going to meet TDP president Chandrababu Naidu and formally announce his joining into the party. But, his entry was delayed due to firm opposition from TDP leaders in Eluru. There has been widespread discontent over welcoming Nani into the party and many local leaders including TDP MLA Badeti Chanti also didn’t like the decision of the high command.
Now, it is heard that Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly appeased the TDP leaders and their supporters in Eluru not to disapprove the party’s decision to welcome a seasoned politician like Nani. Hence, Nani’s joining is just a formality now. Yesterday, Eluru MLA and TDP leader Badeti Chanti held a press meet and stated that they are welcoming the party’s decision and there won’t be any further controversy on Nani’s decision to join the party. He stated that despite a lot of opposition with the party’s ranks they accepted the decision to respect the high command’s directives.
Naidu has reportedly spoke with Badeti Chanti and others to mutually work together in the best interest of the party, leaving aside personal rivalry. So, Chanti has decided to ensure that the supporters in Eluru abide by the decision of Naidu.
So, stage is set for Nani to take shelter under Telugu Desam Party. It is unclear how Naidu will accommodate him the coming elections.
