Akshay Kumar Shares Daughter’s Cybercrime Experience, Urges Cyber Education in Schools

Cybercrime has emerged as a major challenge not only for ordinary citizens but also for celebrities, with online fraudsters resorting to tactics such as stealing money from bank accounts, morphing photos, and blackmailing victims. Authorities and public figures continue to urge people to stay alert to such threats.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar joined the campaign against cybercrime, highlighting the risks faced by children online by sharing a disturbing incident involving his own daughter. Speaking as the chief guest at the “Cyber Awareness Month 2025” event held at the Mumbai State Police Headquarters on Friday, he said that his daughter had received inappropriate messages while playing an online game.

“Some months ago, my daughter was playing an online game when an unknown person messaged her asking whether she was a boy or a girl. She replied that she was female, and the person then asked her to send nude photos. My daughter immediately switched off the phone and informed her mother. This too is a form of cybercrime, and it is essential to curb it,” Akshay said.

The actor urged the Maharashtra government to introduce cyber education as a weekly subject in schools to raise awareness among students about online threats and ensure their safety in the digital space.
