The teaser of Kannappa was officially launched at a special media event in Mumbai. The event saw the presence of Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, actor-producer Vishnu Manchu, and director Mukesh Kumar Singh. Executive producer Sri Vinay Maheshwari oversaw the event, which received an overwhelming response. The teaser, specially showcased for the media, was widely appreciated.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Dr. Mohan Babu, Kannappa is being positioned as a visual spectacle. Speaking at the event, Akshay Kumar, who portrays Lord Shiva in the film, revealed that he initially rejected the role twice. “Vishnu’s conviction that I would be the right fit for this character made me reconsider. The film has a powerful narrative with deep emotional layers and is set to be a visual extravaganza. I am honored to be a part of this journey,” he said.
Vishnu Manchu described Kannappa as more than just a film, calling it a personal and spiritual journey. “I have been visiting all the Jyotirlingas across India, and this story has strengthened my spiritual connection. It is a tale of unwavering faith and sacrifice. Having stalwarts like Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, and Prabhas as part of this project is a proud moment. We believe this film, enriched with devotion and divine energy, will resonate globally,” he stated.

The Kannappa teaser, which garnered attention at the Cannes Film Festival, is scheduled for release on March 1. The film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on April 25, 2025.
