Ajith Equates Racing, Cinema: Announces Strategic Break from Films During Racing Season

Kollywood star Ajith Kumar, widely admired as both an action hero on-screen and a passionate motorsport racer off-screen, has made notable remarks regarding his future career plans. In a recent statement, Ajith drew parallels between his dual passions—cinema and racing—emphasising the level of dedication both demand.

“For me, racing and films are the same. Both involve risk, and both require absolute commitment,” Ajith said, highlighting the seriousness with which he approaches each discipline.

Ajith, who has previously sustained injuries during racing events and film stunts alike, stated that such setbacks have never deterred him from pursuing either interest. “I’ve suffered injuries and undergone surgeries due to stunt sequences in films, but that doesn’t mean I will stop doing action roles. Likewise, accidents in racing don’t stop me from getting back on the track. I see no real difference between the two—they’re both integral to who I am,” he said.

Elaborating on his preparations for competitive racing, Ajith revealed that he has undergone a significant physical transformation. “To be fit for racing, I had to undergo intensive training. Over the past eight months, I lost nearly 42 kilograms through cycling, swimming, and a strict diet regimen.”

Given the demanding nature of the sport, Ajith confirmed that he would be taking a temporary break from film projects during the racing season. “During such intense training, I feel I can’t give my best to both fields simultaneously. Therefore, I’ve decided to pause film commitments during the racing calendar. Once the season concludes, I will return my full focus to cinema,” he added.

Ajith expressed confidence that this balanced approach would enable him to excel in both arenas without compromise.
