Hyderabad: Following the tragic crash of an Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London shortly after takeoff on Thursday, the makers of Netflix’s upcoming web series Rana Naidu Season 2 have cancelled a scheduled promotional event as a mark of respect to the victims. The crash, which resulted in significant loss of life, has cast a shadow across the country, prompting the entertainment industry to suspend several public engagements.
In an official statement, the team behind Rana Naidu Season 2 expressed their condolences and announced the cancellation of the fan and media interaction planned for Thursday. “In light of the tragic Air India plane crash and in solidarity with the affected families, we have decided to cancel today’s scheduled fan and media meet for Rana Naidu Season 2. Our heartfelt sympathies are with the victims and their families,” the statement read.
The series, starring Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati, is set to stream on Netflix from June 13. Directed by Karan Anshuman and co-created by Suparn S. Varma and Abhay Chopra, the series is produced by Sunder Aaron under Locomotive Global. The second season also features Arjun Rampal, Surveen Chawla, Kriti Kharbanda, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, and Dino Morea in key roles.
