A day after former MLA and YCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi was arrested in a case of SC, ST Atrocities Prevention Act, besides several other sections, another YCP Ex MLA was booked in a similar case. YCP’s Denduluru Ex MLA Abbayya Choudary in Eluru district was booked in the attack against Denduluru TDP MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, which has been creating uproar in the district for the last three days.
Recently, YCP ranks have created havoc in Eluru district. A case has been registered at Eluru Three Town Police Station based on the complaint given by Chintamaneni Prabhakar’s driver. The case was registered under the SC and ST Atrocities Prevention Act, as well as several sections.
An attempt was allegedly made to murder Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, when he was attending a wedding ceremony held in a village near Eluru on Wednesday night. It was reportedly provoked by the former YSRCP MLA Kotharu Abbayya Chowdhury, who also attended the same ceremony.
After the ceremony, Chintamaneni tried to leave from the ceremony for home in his car. While Chintamaneni’s driver was driving, Abbayya Chowdhury blocked the car and incited violence. Chintamaneni’s driver went to request to clear the blockade. However, Abbayya Chowdhury indiscriminately attacked the driver and the gunman.
Later, Chintamaneni’s gunman and driver filed a complaint with the police on this matter. They explained that YSRCP rioters had tried to attack Prabhakar. This incident created a high tension in Denduluru. Upon learning of this, TDP ranks rushed to the house of MLA Prabhakar.
Then, YCP members arrived at Abbayya Chaudhary’s house in Kondalaraopalem, Pedavegi mandal in large numbers. The police received information that YCP members were coming to attack Chintamaneni en-masse. The police immediately entered the field.
The police made heavy security arrangements and monitored the situation to prevent any conflict. Chintamaneni Prabhakar filed a complaint with the Eluru district SP regarding this incident. He handed over the evidence related to the dispute to the SP.
