Bollywood director Ayan Mukerji, who recently had a massive hit with Brahmastra, is set to launch his eagerly awaited film War 2. After the huge success of Brahmastra, Ayan has reunited with Yash Raj Films to direct the sequel of their blockbuster action flick War. Ayan has brought in an added excitement this time by casting South Indian heartthrob Jr. NTR, in the hope that his arrival will bring more energy into the project. There are early indications that on-screen interactions between NTR and Hrithik Roshan will provide an electrifying chemistry that the fans are looking forward to.
The newly launched War 2 trailer has created mixed responses from audiences. While the visuals and action scenes appear to be grand, some critics opine that the movie goes by the same Bollywood action template and has no space for the kind of novelty fans have been waiting for. Nevertheless, many are anticipating the contrasting duo of Hrithik and NTR, expecting their energetic performances to be the most prominent strength of the movie.
Though the trailer has given us an incredible sight, it has yet to generate the excitement one might expect with a high-budget movie like War 2. NTR’s entry has definitely captured the attention of Telugu audiences – most notably, his own hardcore fans – who want to see him make his mark in Bollywood. The burning question, however, is how Ayan Mukerji can make War 2 stand out from other movies in its genre. There is some doubt since the sequel looks to run in similar lines as War, and some negativity due to the film being not that unique.
If War 2 fails to meet the elevated expectations, Ayan could be heavily criticized. Conversely, if the film performs well, it would pave the way for further collaborations with other Tollywood actors. For this to happen, War 2 needs to deliver in box office and also through storytelling. Although the trailer has definitely raised eyebrows, only time will tell if War 2 will actually live up to the immense hype surrounding it.
