Advocate General argued no ban on Chief Minister, Ministers from acting in films

Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas argued in the High Court that there is no ban on people holding the posts of Chief Minister and Ministers from acting in films. He recalled that the High Court had given a clear verdict in the case of former Chief Minister and senior film actor NTR.

He said that the petitioner had not placed any evidence before the court to show that Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan had any role in the increase in the ticket price of the film Harihara Veeramallu. Advocate Bala, representing the petitioner and former IAS officer Vijay Kumar, sought time to examine the High Court’s verdict in the case of film actor NTR and present his reply.

High Court Judge Justice Venkata Jyotirmayi said that the hearing will be adjourned to the 15th of this month for reply arguments. It is known that former IAS Vijay Kumar has filed a case in the High Court to stop Pawan Kalyan from acting in films while he is serving as the Deputy Chief Minister, alleging that he is misusing the government machinery to promote the Harihara Veeramallu movie and commercial activities.

The petitioner’s lawyer Bala said that acting in films while serving as the Deputy Chief Minister is unethical. He wants him to stay away from commercial activities after taking charge as a minister. He said that the rules have not been followed in the matter of increasing the price of movie tickets.

He said that he is misusing public money by using the security personnel and official vehicles provided by the government. He said that acting in films and performing duties as the Deputy Chief Minister are mutually contradictory.

It is known that during the release of the Harihara Veeramallu movie, many Deputy CMs have wrongly campaigned against Pawan Kalyan and the increase in the price of movie tickets. The Deputy Chief Minister gave a befitting reply to all of them.

It is known that Pawan Kalyan was deeply angered by the criticism of YSRCP leaders that he was not interested in films and administration. They said that they were doing business by running newspapers, TVs, many benami companies and many other sources of income, but he was angry that he should stop films.
