Actress Kasturi, who made severe remarks about the Telugu community settled in Tamil Nadu, was arrested by Chennai police in Hyderabad today. She had made inappropriate comments stating that the Telugu people, who came to serve in the royal palaces of Tamil Nadu 300 years ago, now claim to be part of the Tamil ethnicity. As a result, several cases were filed against Kasturi in various locations across Tamil Nadu.
Although Kasturi apologized for her remarks, the anger among the Telugu community settled in Tamil Nadu did not subside. Additionally, Kasturi’s anticipatory bail petition was rejected by the Madras High Court.
In light of this, Kasturi, who had been on the run, was apprehended by the Egmore police from Chennai in Narsinghi, Hyderabad. A special police team from Chennai arrived in Hyderabad today to take her into custody. After her arrest, she will be transferred to Chennai.
