Actress Jethwani urged Home Minister Anita to close `illegal case’ against her

Mumbai actress Kadambari Jethwani has met Home Minister Anitha along with her parents and urged her to close the `illegal case’ registered against her during the previous YCP regime. She also urged to do justice to her in the illegal detention and torture committed against her by the senior police officials.

With regard to political involvement in that, she expressed hope the ongoing probe by the police will expose the same.  The actress thanked the government for the steps taken in this matter requested to provide her protection, in view of threats on her life.

The Mumbai actress said that the police earlier had tried to open her iPhone two times and she received alerts. Jatwani said that since they could not open the iPhone, they tried to delete the data in them. She said that she had received an alert in her mail, but they could not do it due to super security on the iPhone.

She deplored that in the history of India we have not seen such cases where such senior IPS officers have personally intervened. The names of some political leaders are included in it. She said that she was not even allowed to apply for bail for 23 days, which itself shows how they abused authority and power.

She urged the Home Minister that the YCP leader K Vidyasagar, who was named as A1 in the FIR, should be arrested immediately. “We are at risk because we are fighting against those who have filed a case. That is why we ask for protection while we are here. Anita very patiently listened to all my requests. We have been assured that this government will do justice to the injustice and heinous attacks done to us by the previous government”, she added.

She thanked the Home Minister that the government has withdrawn the lookout notice issued during the previous regime against her brother, who is doing business in Dubai.
