Claiming that Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal’s sugar levels have touched a dangerous level, the AAP has reiterated the accusation that the BJP was conspiring to harm him by keeping in jail.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh also accused the prison authorities of making Kejriwal’s record public, which is an offence. He deplored that the jail administration made the medical report of the CM of Delhi public several times.
A day after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had lost 8.5 kg in prison, Tihar Jail sources on Monday, 15 July, said he had only lost 2 kg and he was being regularly monitored by a medical board of AIIMS.
The sources said the jail administration has written to the Delhi government’s Home Department regarding the allegations levelled by AAP ministers and leaders, saying that such a narrative “confuses and misleads the public”.
Delhi cabinet minister Atishi had expressed concern over Kejriwal’s “unexplained weight loss of 8.5 kg” since his arrest and claimed that his sugar level had dropped below 50 mg/dL more than five times in prison. She alleged that Kejriwal was not getting the medical attention needed as a diabetic.
“Arvind Kejriwal has been suffering from acute diabetes for 30 years. He is a serious diabetic patient. In the last few weeks, his sugar level has fallen to very dangerous levels many times,” she added.
She expressed concern that if the sugar level falls below 70-60, then anything can happen to that person. A sleeping person can go into a coma due to low sugar levels, he can have a brain stroke, he can have seizures, he can have permanent brain damage, she added.
However, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva claimed the AAP leaders were enacting a “drama” by repeating the statements on Kejriwal’s health to “mislead” the court and get bail for him.
