Aamir Khan Opens Up on Fear, Risk-Taking and Film Choices

Veteran actor Aamir Khan, known for entertaining audiences with distinctive stories for over three decades, recently spoke about his approach to filmmaking and risk-taking in a candid interview. The actor, whose latest film Sitaare Zameen Par has won widespread acclaim, revealed that he still experiences anxiety before every film release and consciously chooses stories that challenge him.

“Before the release of every film, I feel a lot of fear, which is intensified by the kinds of stories I pick. I am drawn to projects with risk. While working on Dangal, I gained significant weight, and everyone assumed it would take two years to get back to normal. Similarly, during Dhoom 3, people focused on my age, even though I was nearing 50. Despite that, I chose these films, took the risks, and completed them,” Aamir said.

He also discussed his decision to release Sitaare Zameen Par on YouTube. “The decision was carefully made to benefit the industry. While nothing can replace the theatre experience, only three percent of the population can watch films in theatres. Sitaare Zameen Par reached over a crore viewers in theatres, and to bring it to the wider audience afterward, YouTube was the ideal platform. I plan to release all my future films in a similar manner,” he added.

Recently, Aamir watched Sitaare Zameen Par with jawans, enjoying scenes together. A video from the screening is now circulating online.
