AP Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh urged the Centre’s assistance to develop Tirupati and Visakhapatnam as global destination centers, besides more tourism projects for the state.
At Tourism ministers conference held in Udaipur of Rajasthan, chaired by Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, he requested the Union Minister to allocate a Culinary Institute in Tirupati, a Tourism Bhavan in Amaravati, and a National School Drama in Rajamahendravaram.
Minister Durgesh said that the Union Minister responded positively to this. He appealed to the Union Minister to grant it to AP as the Tourism Bhavan remained in Telangana after the bifurcation of the state. He said that if the state-of-the-art tourism building planned to be built in the state capital Amaravati is approved quickly, appropriate facilities will be provided, so that tourists will have the opportunity to get the information they need.
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat praised AP’s tourism policy and expressed satisfaction with the explanation of Minister Durgesh at the conference. During the conference, Minister Durgesh and Tourism MD Amrapali Kata met the Union Minister separately and asked them to cooperate in the development of tourism in the state.
They thanked him for already providing assistance to the development of tourism in the state through various schemes. After the meeting, Minister Durgesh visited the famous tourist destinations of Udaipur. On this occasion, they went on a boat trip to Lake Pichola, an artificial freshwater lake. They visited Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir there.
They learned about the historical splendor of the fort there through local guides. Later, they visited the Udaipur Monsoon Palace and went for a walk. They inquired about the historical features there. Speaking on the occasion, Durgesh praised Udaipur, known as the city of lakes, as one of the most beautiful cities in India.
He said that the grand palaces, peaceful lakes and historical forts reflect the splendor of this place. After this tourist tour, he felt that it would be good to implement the policies adopted here in the tourist areas of Andhra Pradesh.
