The coalition government is working to change the face of rural areas in Andhra Pradesh. As part of that, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has launched the Palle Pandanga program. This program was started at the same time last year and 30,000 works were started at a cost of about Rs. 4500 crore.
This Palle Pandanga is being continued this year too. Now the officials are preparing plans to undertake 52,000 works at a time with a cost of Rs. 6,500 crore under the Palle Pandanga 2.0 program.
Thus, the government is planning to bring a festive atmosphere in the villages. It seems that the works to be undertaken under Palle Pandanga 2.0 are likely to be started by the end of October or the first week of November. It seems that Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has recently instructed the officials in a review meeting to this effect.
It is known that the works started during Palle Pandanga last year were undertaken with material funds from the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. At that time, more priority was given to the construction of roads, canals and gokuls. As part of that, about 4000 km. of concrete and asphalt roads have been constructed.
Meanwhile, this year, along with them, 55 km of magic drains will be constructed in 1,107 new panchayats. The government is making plans to expand these drains, which were previously carried out on an experimental basis in some villages, to other panchayats. Employment Guarantee Scheme funds are also being used in the Palle Pandit 2.0 program.
Along with them, development works will be carried out along with NABARD, Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Project (AIIB), 15th Finance Commission, and general funds of panchayats. Meanwhile, the AP government hopes that the central government will soon release Rs. 2,500 crores that should come under the material in the employment scheme.
The government already has funds available through NABARD, AIIB, PMGSY, and the 15th Finance Commission. Pawan Kalyan set a world record by holding over 13,000 Gram Sabhas in a single day on August 23, 2024. Resolutions were passed for many works in these Gram Sabhas. A village festival program was started to complete those works.
