Story:

Varun (Siddhu Jonnalagadda), an orphan since childhood, is always dreaming about having a loving family. He falls in love with Raaga (Srinidhi Shetty), the principal’s daughter, in college. Everything goes well, but Raaga ends the relationship when she declares that she doesn’t believe in the institution of marriage or long-term relationships.

Fast forward a few years, Varun finds success and meets Anjali (Raashii Khanna) an interior designer, in a matrimonial match. They fall in love and get married, beginning a happy life together. Their happiness is short-lived, however, as they later discover that Anjali cannot conceive. Determined to start a family, they opt for surrogacy — and are shocked when Varun finds out that the specialist is none other than his former flame, Raaga.

Having no idea about their past, Anjali asks for Raaga’s assistance, and Raaga offers to be their surrogate mother. Still bearing the scars of their past, Varun puts one simple condition: Raaga will have to remain with them for the entire nine months of her pregnancy. Raaga agrees, and the three of them embark upon an emotionally charged journey under one roof.

How will Anjali respond once she knows the history of Varun and Raaga? How will Raaga’s presence influence the marriage of Varun and Anjali? Will the surrogacy be successful? And will Varun’s quest for revenge turn into forgiveness and closure? The answers follow in the rest of the narrative.

Review:

Siddhu Jonnalagadda proves himself again as an actor with a natural and confident performance in Telusu Kada. As Varun, a character whose emotions are easy to relate to, Siddhu delivers dialogue with accuracy and subtlety in every emotional scene.

Raashii Khanna shines as Anjali with elegance and grace and she has a good on-screen bond with Siddhu. Srinidhi Shetty, as Raaga, impresses without reliance on glamour and is very convincing in her role which involves much emotional range. Harsha Chemudu gives a refreshing twist with his comic timing in the role of Varun’s friend.

The movie is straightforward for the first half – depicting Varun’s heartbreak, marriage to Anjali, and the couple’s difficulty getting pregnant. When Raaga re-enters the story, it is filled with emotional tension and this tension helps to keep the viewer engaged. The second half is about the complicated relationships between Varun, Anjali, and Raaga, as the plot slowly unfolds past relationship revelations and checks the relationships.

The climax, especially the final 30 minutes, is a highlight. Director Neerraja Kona’s writing shines here, with impactful dialogues and strong emotional beats. Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s performance carries the intensity of the climax, delivering a satisfying and convincing resolution.

Technically, the movie impresses. Thaman’s music is effective for both numbers, and the background score gives an emotional pull at key moments. Jnanasekhar’s camera work is steeped in colour and attractive, but it barley stands behind the production design which is real and descriptive.

For a first-time director, Neerraja Kona promises much. She tackles a daring, topical narrative with ease and maturity and makes sure the dialogues are substantial and effective. However, with a somewhat less showy screenplay with greater visual narration and a lighter commercial sheen, I feel the film would have appealed to a more general audience.

Overall, Telusu Kada is an emotionally engaging, well-crafted drama with strong performances, vibrant visuals, and a modern narrative style — a satisfying watch for viewers who value content-rich cinema.
