Telangana’s Minister for Industries and Information Technology, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, has been extended a rare international recognition — an invitation to deliver the keynote address at the prestigious “AusBiotech International Conference 2025”, widely regarded as the most influential life sciences conference in the Asia–Pacific region.
The conference, jointly organised by AusBiotech, Australia’s apex life sciences body, and the Government of Victoria, will be held in Melbourne from October 21 to 24, 2025. Notably, Minister Sridhar Babu will be the only Indian leader invited to speak at this global forum, marking Telangana’s emergence as a prominent innovation hub in the life sciences sector.
During his keynote address, the Minister is expected to highlight Telangana’s remarkable growth trajectory in the Life Sciences and MedTech sectors, the state’s robust policy framework, and its readiness to host next-generation global investments. Over the last two years, Telangana has witnessed record progress, attracting over Rs. 63,000 crore in new investments in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology.
Extending the formal invitation, Australia’s Consul General, Ms. Hilary McGeachy, met Minister Sridhar Babu in Hyderabad on Wednesday. She lauded the Minister for his visionary leadership under the guidance of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, which has positioned Telangana as a global hub for pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and MedTech innovation.
Ms. McGeachy also stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation between Australia and Telangana in innovation, healthcare technologies, and sustainable industrial growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Sridhar Babu said “This invitation is a proud moment for Telangana and for India. It signifies global recognition of Telangana’s rapid advancement in the life sciences sector. Hyderabad is today ranked among the world’s top seven life sciences clusters — and it is the only Indian city to achieve this distinction. With more than Rs. 63,000 crore in new investments, we are committed to leveraging every global platform to attract greater innovation, investment, and collaboration”.
The Minister asserted that the Telangana Government is determined to build stronger Australia–Telangana partnerships rooted in innovation, trust, and shared prosperity.
