CM Chandrababu Announces SIT To probe spurious Liquor case

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced that an SIT will be formed to investigate the spurious liquor case that has become a hot topic in the state. He launched the AP Excise Suraksha App on Sunday evening at his residence in Undavalli along with Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra.

Later,  he said that an SIT led by IG GVG Ashok Kumar is being formed for a thorough investigation into the spurious liquor case. It will include IPS officers Rahul Dev Sharma, K, Chakravarthy, Mallika Garg, and P. Srinivasa Rao. He said that surprising things are coming to light in the Mulakalacheruvu spurious liquor case and the roots are in Africa.

He expresses hope that the probe will bring to light that since when has spurious liquor been manufactured? Who is manufacturing it? Who is behind them? He warned that there is no compromise in the spurious liquor case and action will be taken against all those responsible. He recalled that he was the one who exposed the Mulakalacheruvu incident, made arrests, and would also reveal the facts to the public from time to time.

CM Chandrababu said He said that 23 accused have been identified in this case so far, of whom 16 have already been arrested, and in the Ibrahimpatnam case, 12 accused  have been identified and seven of them have been arrested. He said that PT warrants have been issued against four others. He said that after allegations were made against people from his party in this case, they were suspended from the party.

The Chief Minister said that liquor sellers and consumers can also check whether the liquor is original or fake through the AP Excise Suraksha app. He said that a policy is being introduced in retail shops to sell liquor only after scanning. From the 16th of this month, the facility of checking through this app will be provided in all shops, and the app should be downloaded from the Google Playstore.

CM Chandrababu said that once the liquor bottle is scanned through the QR code in the app, all the details like the date of manufacture, time, batch number, etc. will be displayed. If the bottle is fake liquor, the information will be sent to the excise department command center as soon as the app fails to open.

He said that liquor allocated to one shop will not be allowed to be sold in another shop. He said that liquor bottles and liquor shops are being geo-tagging. He said that this app will be useful in eliminating belt shops.
