The Tamil Nadu government honoured distinguished artists for their remarkable contributions to the arts in a special ceremony held in Chennai. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presented the prestigious “Kalaimamani” awards for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023, recognising excellence across multiple artistic disciplines.
A total of 90 artists received the awards in fields such as acting, music, dance, theatre, and cinema. Notably, renowned actress Sai Pallavi was honoured in the acting category for 2021, receiving the award directly from CM Stalin. Other prominent awardees included actors S.J. Surya and Vikram Prabhu, among several others who have made significant contributions to Tamil arts and culture.
The Kalaimamani award is considered the highest recognition for artistic achievement in Tamil Nadu. CM Stalin emphasised that the awards aim to promote cultural and artistic excellence and encourage emerging talent. The event saw the participation of Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and other dignitaries, celebrating the vibrant artistic heritage of the state.
