Pawan Kalyan says he will oppose if Lalu Group takes up cow slaughter in their Food Park

Raising several questions on the allotment of land to Lalu Group in the state and various conditions they are bargaining with the governments, besides unusual concessions they are seeking, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan made it clear in the state cabinet meeting that he will oppose if they resort to cow slaughter in their Food Parks.

During the cabinet meeting, officials explained the issues and conditions that Lulu Group was seeking for their investment. In this regard, Pawan Kalyan asked a series of questions on the proposals made by Lulu Group. Doubts were raised. Will cows be slaughtered in the Mega Food Park?, he bluntly asked.

It is learnt that Pawan has made it clear that he is against doing so. Pawan also made key suggestions on jobs in Lulu. During the discussion on allotments and exemptions to Lulu Group in the AP cabinet meeting, a proposal was made to lease 7.48 acres of land in the Mallavalli Mega Food Park in Krishna district to them.

Fair Exports, a part of Lulu Group, for setting up a core processing center. Pawan Kalyan reportedly asked, “Do you have any information about what is being done there in the name of food purification?” The officials replied that they only purify food, but it cannot simply be called food purification, what is actually being done there?, he asked.

Do they cultivate vegetables and fruits? Do they cultivate horticultural crops? Or do they operate a slaughterhouse, slaughter cows and export the meat?, Pawan reportedly asked directly. At the same time, it seems that Pawan has made it clear that cow slaughter is not allowed and that he is completely against it.

With this, the officials have swallowed water. It is reported that Chief Minister Chandrababu intervened and made it clear that cow slaughter is not allowed anywhere in the state and that such things will not be allowed. He clarified that only a food processing unit will be allowed there.

The Chief Minister said that only fruits like mango and papaya will be processed. After that, Pawan Kalyan  mentioned several key issues like Lulu Group’s business model, land allocations, local job creation, and rental agreements. Minister Nadendla Manohar mentioned the lease amount being increased by only 5 percent for 5 years. It seems that he questioned whether it should be increased by 10 percent for 3 years as per the rules?
