Congress confused over High Court stay on BC Reservations, CM Revanth Reddy high-level meet to explore options

Congress leaders were confused, saying, “We will increase BC reservations.. We promised BCs.. We gave a yes vote that will not stand in the courts.. What answer should we give to BCs at this stage? Let’s show our faces.” The party’s BC ministers and leaders are reeling from the High Court’s verdict temporarily suspending the implementation of 42% BC reservations in local elections.

Until yesterday, the bigwigs were saying that they would achieve BC reservations, and now they are discussing that they have to put on a white face. After the High Court verdict, there has been a heated discussion in Congress circles on this issue. Until then, all the leaders who were ready to celebrate at Gandhi Bhavan suddenly became stunned by the High Court verdict.

Putting aside the celebrations, they started discussions at Gandhi Bhavan itself about what the party’s situation would be like. It is learned that BC ministers are especially expressing deep concern. So far they have been busy with reservations in the name of meetings, reviews and discussions till yesterday and are now confused about what to say.

They are worried that they do not have answers to any of the questions asked by the BCs if they go to the field level. They are worried that they are not in a position to say that they will definitely give 42% reservation to the BCs, and if they say the same thing again, they are worried that people will not be able to stop them. Congress leaders themselves admit that they have already thought that it is not possible to implement reservations without the approval of the Governor.

However, they are expressing anger that the party and government leaders have stubbornly moved forward. They are saying that they moved forward even though they knew that these orders were invalid to corner the opposition BRS, and now this has happened to us in reverse.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will hold a key meeting on Friday. Along with ministers, key Congress party leaders and legal experts will participate in this meeting. Both the party and the government are expressing concern over the government’s decision to provide justice to the BCs being stalled.

In this meeting, there will be an in-depth discussion on the two alternatives before the government. One is to approach the Supreme Court, and the other is to wait for the final verdict in the High Court. CM Revanth will gather the opinions of legal experts to know which path is safer in terms of law.
