Chief Ministsesr and Telugu Desam Party National President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has decided to stay away from the Jubilee Hills bye-election and not to support anyone. He met with leaders from various districts of Telangana at the CM camp office in Amaravati on Tuesday.
The meeting with Telangana Telugu Desam leaders continued till nightfall. He clarified that this decision was taken with the intention that the party ranks were not ready for the contest. Since there is an alliance between Telugu Desam, Jana Sena and BJP parties in AP,. Chandrababu made it clear to the leaders that they cannot go against BJP in Telangana.
He directed them to work together if BJP asks for support. Otherwise, they should remain neutral. He made it clear that he will not support BRS and Congress. CM Chandrababu directed that there is affection for TDP among the people of Telangana and to strengthen the party by being among the people.
Meanwhile, CM Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that the Telangana State President will be entrusted to those who provide effective leadership. He suggested that the appointments of mandal presidents, who have already completed the exercise, should be completed.
They told Chandrababu that the activists and leaders are ready to work actively in the party from the village level to the district level if the institutional structure of the state party is completed and leadership is provided. He explained to the party president that 1.78 lakh members have been registered in Telangana so far. The main discussion was on the issue of appointing a state committee along with the state president.
He asked that in case the process of appointing the party’s state president is delayed, a committee should be formed at the state level temporarily along with the top leaders. Chandrababu advised Telangana TDP leaders to increase the party’s activity by taking everyone’s opinions. Among those who met Chandrababu were former Rajya Sabha member Kambhampati Rammohan Rao, Arvind Kumar Goud, Narsi Reddy, Nandamuri Suhasini and many other leaders.
