YS Jagan to undertake `Rachhabanda’ program from Oct 10 to 22

After visiting Narsipatnam Medical College on October 9, former Chief Minister and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will undertake a Racchabanda program from October 10 to November 22. He revealed that one crore signatures will be collected through Racchabanda programs and at least 500 signatures will be collected from each panchayat opposing the privatization of medical colleges. These decisions were taken during his meeting with party leaders at the party central office in Tadepalli on Tuesday.

Speaking at the meeting, Jagan said, “There will be rallies in the constituency centers on October 28. Demands documents should be submitted to the officer at the constituency level. Rallies will be held in the district centers on November 12. I will also participate in one district”.

“The signatures collected from the constituency centers will reach the district center on November 23. On November 24, the vehicles carrying the signatures collected will be flagged off at the district center and taken to Vijayawada. The program to hand over these collected signatures to the Governor will be held later”, he added.

Stating that there were no student dropouts during the YSRCP regime, Jagan deplored  that five lakh students have decreased in government schools during the coalition rule. He alleged that farmers are taking to the roads for fertilizers and that scams are also being done in the distribution of fertilizers. They have joined hands with middlemen. They have completely damaged the public health system.

Jagan criticized that the poor are still being treated unjustly and are being pushed further into poverty. He criticized the coalition government for not providing free quality medical care in the future. “We set up 17 medical colleges during the YSRCP regime with the intention of having a government college in every district. Why does the government run schools, hospitals and buses?”, he asked.

If it does not do so, he warned that private companies will rob the people. If these are not run, he sadi that the people will suffer serious losses. He expressed anger that CM Chandrababu Naidu is collecting another 50,000 acres for capital Amaravati, as if present 50,000 acres are not enough.

Recalling that Chandrababu had said that Rs. 1 lakh crore would be spent on infrastructure for the first 50,000 acres, he expressed astonishment that now it is being said that Rs. 2 lakh crore will be spent on infrastructure alone.  He expressed anger that medical colleges, which provide medical care to lakhs and crores of people and are permanent assets, are being sold on trust. Can’t Rs. 5 thousand crores be spent in five years? He asked.
