Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has taken a key step towards taking the use of technology in Andhra Pradesh to another level. Preparations have started for the establishment of a ‘Drone City’ in the state and has instructed the officials to make arrangements for the foundation stone of the Drone City to be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting Srisailam on the 16th of this month.
It has also been decided to organize a large-scale ‘Drone Show’ in December this year to create widespread awareness among the public about this huge project and to attract investments. He held a high-level review on RTGS and civil services at the RTGS Command Control Room in the Secretariat.
Information Minister K. Parthasarathy, Chief Secretary to the Government K. Vijayanand, IT, RTGS and CMO senior officials participated in the meeting. CM Chandrababu, who specifically discussed the use of drones on this occasion, emphasized the need to further increase the use of drones in the agriculture and medical sectors.
He clarified that drone technology should be promoted in the private sector as well as in the government. He reiterated that his first duty is to increase the level of satisfaction of the people with the services provided by the government. “What is important to us is how the people respond to the schemes implemented by the government and the services provided,” he said.
CM Chandrababu directed that an audit should be conducted every month to assess the performance of government departments from time to time. He also suggested that a comprehensive action plan be prepared every three months. He said that by analyzing the huge data available at RTGS, the sources of problems can be identified and solutions can be provided quickly.
He asked the officials to create awareness so that people can use these services more and more. He ordered to identify the eligible beneficiaries who are not receiving welfare schemes due to technical reasons and ensure that they also get the benefits.
The CM explained that the mistakes made in the revenue records during the previous government’s tenure are being corrected and steps are being taken to end land disputes. He suggested that the CCTV camera system should be used effectively to maintain law and order and control crime. He made it clear that there would be no compromise on the performance of government officials and employees.
