SIT Approaches High Court to Cancel Mithun Reddy’s Bail in Liquor Scam Case

The SIT has turned to the High Court after the ACB court granted bail to key accused in the high-profile liquor scam case. In cases like this, it’s typically tough to get bail in lower courts, and appeals for bail often find success in higher courts. Surprisingly, the ACB court granted bail to several key figures in the case, including Krishna Mohan Reddy, Dhanunjay Reddy, and Mithun Reddy. Acting on this, the SIT moved a petition before the High Court seeking cancellation of these bail orders.

The SIT contends that while the charge sheet was filed in a timely manner, the ACB court ruling issuing bail could have a serious impact on the investigation since the released individuals could interfere with ongoing legal processes. While it could be considerably more challenging to contest a bail order at the High Court, the SIT is still optimistic for a favorable ruling. The High Court has already begun hearings regarding the release of the three accused, and the SIT’s petition to cancel Mithun Reddy’s bail is expected to be reviewed soon.

In addition to the bail issue, the SIT is unveiling a money trail in connection with the fraud, accusing large-scale gold purchases and money laundering in shell companies. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has already raided suspects of financial misdeeds. Legal experts say that quickly identifying and pinning down the mastermind behind this scam will strengthen the case and enhance the possibility of further legal actions.
