Excise officials strengthening check posts on Telangana Borders To prevent Illegal Liquor During Local Body polls

The Excise Department has been alerted with the local body election schedule. As the nomination filing process is starting from the 9th of this month, the Excise Department is preparing plans to curb illegal liquor. It is taking steps to strengthen the checkpoints to prevent illegal transportation of liquor from border states into Telangana.

In addition to monitoring the sale of liquor, it is working with the police and revenue departments to curb illegal activities. The production, supply and sale of gadum will be monitored in 139 police stations across the 34 excise districts of the state. Check points are being strengthened to prevent the sale of black jaggery and illegal liquor from outside states.

The Excise Department has decided to strengthen the border checkpoints to prevent illegal liquor from entering the state from Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. It has already collected complete details of all illegal activities taking place in the state, and is preparing action to curb them. It has been decided to form special teams in each district.

Enforcement officers along with station staff will participate in these inspections. In addition to them, special teams will be formed by the police and revenue departments to keep an eye on illegal liquor activities. The officials who will be paying special attention to liquor sales will be asked which shops sell the most liquor. If there are high sales, what are the conditions there?

They will find out why it is happening so much. It is reported that details are being collected in terms of whether any candidates are buying it or whether there are other reasons. They will focus on implementing the election code of conduct, preventing illegal liquor supply, and stopping the manufacture of liquor.

Steps will be taken to prevent violations of the MRP prices of liquor and to stop belt shops. Officials will call shopkeepers and make them aware of the election code of conduct. Steps will be taken to take strict action if anyone violates the rules. In this regard, a full-scale operation will be prepared in one or two days.
