Chakrasnanam performed In A Ritualistic Manner on The Last Day of Srivari Brahmotsavam At Tirumala

On the last day of the Srivari Brahmotsavam, the Chakrasnanam was performed in a ritualistic manner on Thursday morning at Tirumala. A large number of devotees gathered and took holy dips in the Srivari Pushkarini. The sacred Chakra Snanam was performed to the Sudarshana Chakrattalwar, the anthropomorphic form of Sri Venkateswara Swamy.

Meanwhile, TTD Chairman BR Naidu said that this is the first time in the history of TTD that Brahmotsavams have been held in a grand manner without any inconvenience to the devotees. He said that the devotees have expressed satisfaction with the facilities and amenities provided by TTD. He said that 5.8 lakh devotees visited Lord Venkateswara in the 8 days of Srivari Brahmotsavams.

He also said that a hundi income of Rs. 25.12 crore was received through gifts and more than 28 lakh laddus were sold to devotees. Annaprasadam was distributed to more than 26 lakh devotees and 2.42 lakh devotees offered talanilas , paid obeisances to Srivaru. TTD BR Naidu stated that 4.40 lakh devotees travelled from Tirupati to Tirumala through RTC. 5.22 lakh devotees travelled from Tirumala to Tirupati.

During Chakrasnanam, thousands of devotees had the holy dip along with the sacred disc in the divine waters of Swamy Pushkarini Theertham chanting Govinda.. Govinda with religious ecstasy. Earlier the Utsava deities of Sri Malayappa Swamy flanked by Sridevi Bhudevi along with Chakrattalwar were rendered snapana Tirumanjanam amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by the archakas.

The entire religious event took place between 6am and 9am which was telecast live on SVBC for the sake of global devotees. TTD had set up LED screens on the four sides of Pushkarini Mandapam for the devotees to witness the holy Abhishekam.

Besides police and vigilance sleuths 200 Sevaks offered services to the pilgrims on each side. While another 100 sevaks distributed Badam milk to the waiting pilgrims from 4am onwards in Pushkarini seating areas.

Officers who have been deputed to supervise the Chakra Snanam activity were pressed into service from 3am onwards. The NDRF teams and swimmers were also deployed for the safety of devotees. Temporary dress changing rooms have also been allotted for men and women pilgrims near Pushkarini. 

As the significance of Chakra Snanam lasts for the entire day, the devotees have been requested to take holy dip with patience in a phased manner. The announcements are being made by the Radio and Broadcasting wing of TTD continuously.
