Hyderabad: Newly appointed Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar has vowed to take stringent measures against drugs, cybercrime, and other law and order challenges in the city. Speaking to the media after assuming charge, he emphasized his commitment to maintaining peace and safety across the rapidly growing metropolis.
Highlighting drugs as a major concern, Sajjanar said, “We will tackle the drug problem with an iron hand, taking strict action against suppliers in coordination with police from other states. Additional personnel will be deployed if necessary. Cybercrime is also a key focus, as fraudsters often target senior citizens and unsuspecting citizens. Awareness and caution are crucial, especially against suspicious calls related to stock market investments, digital arrests, and fake medical schemes.”
Addressing traffic and public safety, the CP noted, “Traffic congestion has worsened due to the surge in vehicles following GST reductions. We will work to manage traffic effectively as delays impact health and productivity. Drunk driving and road violations will not be tolerated, and offenders will be treated as road terrorists. Any acts of violence or harassment against children and women will be met with strict action. Special task forces and market intelligence systems will be strengthened to combat organized crime, online fraud, and adulterated food.”
